Will the Sacrificial System and Festivals be restored during the Millennial Reign?

E-mail Print

All of the scripture passages hereafter are set within the Messianic Era... and also indicate authorization, approval, and acceptance from the Father (יהוה) ...in regards to the offerings made and the ones offering them.

Evidence from Ezekiel's description of the Millennial Temple and Altar

  • An Altar restored for burnt offerings and incense offerings (Ezekiel 40:47; 41:22; 43:13-27)
  • New Moons and Sabbaths . . . all the appointed festivals (Ezekiel 44:24; 45:17; 46:3, 11-12)
  • Daily offerings (Ezekiel 46:13-14)
  • Burnt offerings, grain offerings, and libations (Ezekiel 45:17; 46:2, 4, 11-15)
  • Sin offerings are made (Ezekiel 43:20-25; 44:24-29; 45:25)
  • Boiling places to boil the sacrifices of the people (Ezekiel 46:23-24)
  • Tsadok (righteous subclan of Levi) priesthood to slaughter the burnt offerings to יהוה (Ezekiel 40:46; 42:13-14; 43:19; 44:10-16; 45:5; 48:11,22)
Millennial Temple

Be aware that John's vision of "no Temple" (Revelation 21:22) is set after ha-satawn is released "for a short-time" and after the final judgment (Revelation 20:1-12) which all occur after the Millennial reign of Messiah Yeshua. However, the following verses contextually reference events which occur before ha-satan is released and before the final judgment.

Note: It is this author's view that Yeshua will be present in Jerusalem when the following things occur... suggesting not only His approval, but His authorization. Ezekiel never mentions the Ark of the Covenant or a veil dividing the Holy of Holies, however this doesn't necessarily mean they are not present.

The Witness of 5 Major Prophets

Pay particular attention to bold text in red (only added for emphasis). Can or should these passages be allegorized to fit the standard Christian paradigm, or should Christians dig deeper (without Catholic  or protesting-Catholic commentary) to see if they have been doctrinally dumbed-down and lied to?

Isaiah 56:6-7
(6)  “Also the sons of the foreigner who join themselves to יהוה, to serve Him, and to love the Name of יהוה, to be His servants, all who guard the Sabbath, and not profane it, and hold fast to My covenant –
(7)  them I shall bring to My set-apart mountain, and let them rejoice in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their slaughterings are accepted on My Altar, for My house is called a house of prayer for all the peoples.”

Jeremiah 33:17-22
(17)  “For thus said יהוה, ‘For David there is not to cease a man to sit on the throne of the house of Yisra'el.
(18)  ‘And for the priests, the Levites, there is not to cease a man to offer burnt offerings before Me, to kindle grain offerings, and to slaughter continually.’ ”
(19)  And the word of יהוה came to Yirmeyahu, saying,
(20)  “Thus said יהוה, ‘If you could break My covenant with the day and My covenant with the night, so that there be not day and night in their season,
(21)  then My covenant could also be broken with David My servant – so that he shall not have a son to reign upon his throne – and with the Levites, the priests, My attendants.
(22)  ‘As the host of the heavens is not counted, nor the sand of the sea measured, so I increase the descendants of David My servant and the Levites who attend upon Me.’ ”

Zechariah 14:16-21
(16)  And it shall be that all who are left from all the gentiles which came up against Yerushalayim, shall go up from year to year to bow themselves to the Sovereign, יהוה of hosts, and to observe the Festival of Booths.
(17)  And it shall be, that if anyone of the clans of the earth does not come up to Yerushalayim to bow himself to the Sovereign, יהוה of hosts, on them there is to be no rain.
(18)  And if the clan of Mitsrayim does not come up and enter in, then there is no rain. On them is the plague with which יהוה plagues the gentiles who do not come up to observe the Festival of Booths.
(19)  This is the punishment of Mitsrayim and the punishment of all the gentiles that do not come up to observe the Festival of Booths.
(20)  In that day “SET-APART TO יהוה” shall be engraved on the bells of the horses. And the pots in the House of יהוה shall be like the bowls before the Altar.
(21)  And every pot in Yerushalayim and Yehudah shall be set-apart to יהוה of hosts. And all those who slaughter shall come and take them and cook in them. And there shall no longer be a merchant in the House of יהוה of hosts, in that day.

Malachi 3:1-6
(1)  “See, I am sending My messenger, and he shall prepare the way before Me. Then suddenly the Master you are seeking comes to His Hekal, even the Messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight. See, He is coming,” said יהוה of hosts.
(2)  “And who is able to bear the day of His coming, and who is able to stand when He appears? For He is like the fire of a refiner, and like the soap of a launderer.
(3)  “And He shall sit as a refiner and a cleanser of silver. And He shall cleanse the sons of Levi, and refine them as gold and silver, and they shall belong to יהוה, bringing near an offering in righteousness.
(4)  “Then shall the offering of Yehudah and Yerushalayim be pleasant to יהוה, as in the days of old, as in former years.
(5)  “And I shall draw near to you for right-ruling. And I shall be a swift witness against the practisers of witchcraft, and against adulterers, and against them that swear to falsehood, and against those who oppress the wage earner in his wages and widows and the fatherless, and those who turn away a sojourner and do not fear Me,” said יהוה of hosts.
(6)  “For I am יהוה, I shall not change, and you, O sons of Ya'akov, shall not come to an end.

Ezekiel 43:13-27
(13)  “And these are the measurements of the Altar in cubits, that cubit being one cubit and a handbreadth, and the base one cubit high and one cubit wide, with a rim all around its edge of one span. And this is the upper part of the Altar.
(14)  “And from the base on the ground to the lower ledge, two cubits, and the width of the ledge one cubit, and from the smaller ledge to the larger ledge four cubits, and the width of the ledge one cubit.
(15)  “And the Altar hearth is four cubits high, and four horns extending upward from the hearth.
(16)  “And the Altar hearth is twelve cubits long, and twelve wide, square at its four corners.
(17)  “And the ledge is fourteen long and fourteen wide on its four sides, with a rim of half a cubit around it, and its base one cubit all around, and its steps face east.”
(18)  And He said to me, “Son of man, thus said the Master יהוה, ‘These are the laws for the Altar on the day when it is made, for offering burnt offerings on it, and for sprinkling blood on it.
(19)  ‘And you shall give a young bull for a sin offering to the priests, the Levites, who are of the seed of Tsadok, who approach unto Me,’ declares the Master יהוה.l
(20)  ‘And you shall take some of its blood and put it on the four horns of the Altar, on the four corners of the ledge, and on the rim around it, and shall cleanse it and make atonement for it.
(21)  ‘And you shall take the bull of the sin offering, and shall burn it in the appointed place of the House, outside the set-apart place.
(22)  ‘And on the second day you bring a male goat, a perfect one, for a sin offering. And they shall cleanse the Altar, as they cleansed it with the bull.
(23)  ‘When you have ended cleansing it, bring a young bull, a perfect one, and a ram from the flock, a perfect one.
(24)  ‘And you shall bring them before יהוה, and the priests shall throw salt on them and offer them up as a burnt offering to יהוה.l
(25)  ‘Prepare a goat for a sin offering daily for seven days, and prepare a young bull and a ram from the flock, perfect ones.
(26)  ‘For seven days they shall make atonement for the Altar and cleanse it, and ordain it.
(27)  ‘And when these days are completed it shall be, on the eighth day and thereafter, that the priests make your burnt offerings and your peace offerings on the Altar, and I shall accept you,’ declares the Master יהוה.”

Ezekiel 45:15-25
(15)  “And one lamb from a flock, from two hundred, from the watered pastures of Yisra'el, for grain offerings, and for a burnt offering, and for peace offerings, to make atonement for them,” declares the Master יהוה.l
(16)  “All the people of the land are to give this contribution to the prince in Yisra'el.
(17)  “And on the prince are the burnt offerings, and the grain offerings, and drink offerings, at the festival, the New Moons, the Sabbaths – in all the appointed times of the house of Yisra'el. He is to prepare the sin offering, and the grain offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings to make atonement for the house of Yisra'el.”
(18)  ‘Thus said the Master יהוה, “In the first month, on the first of the month, you are to take a young bull, a perfect one, and shall cleanse the set-apart place.
(19)  “And the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering and put it on the doorposts of the House, on the four corners of the ledge of the Altar, and on the posts of the gate of the inner courtyard.
(20)  “And do the same on the seventh of the month for anyone who makes a mistake or is foolish. And you shall make atonement for the House.
(21)  “In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, you have the Passover, a festival of seven days, unleavened bread is eaten.
(22)  “And on that day the prince shall prepare for himself and for all the people of the land a bull for a sin offering.
(23)  “And during the seven days of the festival he prepares a burnt offering to יהוה, seven bulls and seven rams, perfect ones, daily for seven days, and a male goat daily for a sin offering.
(24)  “And he prepares a grain offering of one ophah for each bull and one ophah for each ram, together with a hin of oil for each ophah.
(25)  “In the seventh month, on the fifteenth day of the month, at the festival, he prepares like these seven days, as the sin offering, as the burnt offering, as the grain offering, and as the oil.”

Question for the Christian Allegorist

Does the author(s) of the book of Galatians and Hebrews have the authority to trump and/or nullify what יהוה prophesied through Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Zechariah, and Malachi?

Choose your trump-cards and words wisely. Speaking (out of ignorance) against the future Altar and Place of the Great Name is a dangerous road... even when done in ignorance... especially when a person is speaking to Yah's people.
