Rome can not be Babylon exclusively to itself because it in itself is not a nation, nor is it involved in major commerce that the entire economic world would be hurt by if it were destroyed.
Rome is one main center of the "religion" of Mother Babylon (Britain and the entire EU) and Daughter Babylon (the USA), but it is just one of the cogs in the whole wheel or picture so to speak. With this particular topic, I don't argue one view at the exclusion of another, but generally combine all the bickering views into the bigger system we find ourselves enslaved to. Religiously, Economically, Governmentally, Militarily, Culturally, etc... are all connected and provide important facets of who Mother and Daughter Babylon are in our modern world. The Vatican is just a tree in the forest (although a BIG tree) and we should not be so distracted by that tree that we miss the rest of the forest.
