A Study on "the Place of Safety" in the Last-Days

Text in [brackets] are mine. Text in bold and bold red for emphasis.

Revelation 3:10 - Because you have guarded My Word of endurance, I also shall keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon all the world, to try those who dwell on the earth.

Zephaniah 2:3 - Seek יהוה, all you meek ones of the earth, who have done His right-ruling. Seek righteousness, seek meekness, if so be that you are hidden in the day of wrath of יהוה.

Kingdoms of the Levant

Daniel 11:36-42
(36)  “And the sovereign [anti-messiah] shall do as he pleases, and exalt himself and show himself to be great above every mighty one, and speak incredible matters against the El of mighty ones, and shall prosper until the wrath has been accomplished – for what has been decreed shall be done [see Jeremiah 25:12]
(37)  and have no regard for the mighty ones of his fathers nor for the desire of women, nor have regard for any mighty one, but exalt himself above them all.
(38)  “But in his place he shall give esteem to a mighty one of strongholds. And to a mighty one which his fathers did not know he shall give esteem with gold and silver, with precious stones and costly gifts.
(39)  “And he shall act against the strongest strongholds with a foreign mighty one, which he shall acknowledge. He shall increase in esteem and cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain.
(40)  “At the time of the end the sovereign of the South shall push at him, and the sovereign of the North rush against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships. And he shall enter the lands, and shall overflow and pass over,
(41)  and shall enter the Splendid Land, and many shall stumble, but these escape from his hand: Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the sons of Ammon.
(42)  “And he shall stretch out his hand against the lands, and the land of Mitsrayim [Egypt/land of distress/tribulation] shall not escape.

Isaiah 16:1-7,14
(1)  Send a lamb to the ruler of the land, from Sela to the wilderness, to the mountain of the daughter of Tsiyon.
(2)  And it shall be, like a wandering bird, a nest thrown out, so are the daughters of Moab at the fords of Arnon.
(3)  “Bring counsel, execute judgment; make your shadow like the night in the middle of the day; hide the outcasts, do not betray him who escapes.
(4)  “Let My outcasts dwell with you, O Moab; be a shelter to them from the face of the ravager. For the oppressor has met his end, destruction has ceased, those trampling down have perished from the land.
(5)  “And in kindness the throne shall be established. And One shall sit on it in truth, in the Tent of David, judging and seeking right-ruling, and speeding righteousness.”
(6)  We have heard of the pride of Moab – very proud – of his pride, his arrogance and his rage. His boastings are not true.
(7)  So Moab wails for Moab, everyone wails. For the raisin-cakes of Qir Hareseth they moan. They are utterly smitten.
(14)  But now יהוה has spoken, saying, “Within three years [compare the time period "the Woman" is in the wilderness], as the years of a hired man, the esteem of Moab is to be despised with all its great throng, and the remnant be few, small and weak.”

Revelation 12:6,16-17
(6) And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by Elohim, to be nourished there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.
(16) And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.
(17) And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to fight with the remnant of her seed, those guarding the commands of Elohim and possessing the witness of Yeshua Messiah.

Isaiah 26:20-21
(20)  Go, my people, enter your rooms [chambers], and shut your doors behind you; hide yourself, as it were, for a little while, until the displeasure is past.
(21)  For look, יהוה is coming out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their crookedness. And the earth shall disclose her blood, and no longer cover her slain.

EdomMatthew 24:15-22
(15)  “So when you see the ‘abomination that lays waste,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, set up in the set-apart place” – he who reads, let him understand.
(16)  “then let those who are in Yehudah [Judah] flee to the mountains.
(17)  “Let him who is on the house-top not come down to take whatever out of his house.
(18)  “And let him who is in the field not turn back to get his garments.
(19)  “And woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing children in those days!
(20)  “And pray that your flight does not take place in winter or on the Sabbath.
(21)  “For then there shall be great distress [tribulation], such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.
(22)  “And if those days were not shortened, no flesh would be saved, but for the sake of the chosen ones those days shall be shortened.

Luke 21:20-23
(20)  “And when you see Yerushalayim [Jerusalem] surrounded by armies, then know that its laying waste is near.
(21)  “Then let those in Yehudah flee to the mountains, and let those who are in the midst of her go out, and let not those who are in the fields enter her.
(22)  “Because these are days of vengeance, to fill all that have been written.
(23)  “And woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing children in those days! For there shall be great distress in the earth and wrath upon this people.

The 490 week ministry of Yeshua (Jesus) and the eventual destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans in 70 AD was a foreshadowing of future events.

Jeremiah 30:22 thru 31:4
(30:22)  ‘And you shall be My people, and I shall be your Elohim.’ ”
(23)  See, the storm of יהוה shall go forth in a rage, a whirling storm! It bursts upon the head of the wrong.
(24)  The burning displeasure of יהוה shall not turn back until He has done and established the purposes of His heart. In the latter days you shall understand it.
(31:1)  “At that time,” declares יהוה, “I shall be the Elohim of all the clans of Israel, and they shall be My people.”
(2)  Thus said יהוה, “A people escaped from the sword found favour in the wilderness, Israel, when it went to find rest.”
(3)  יהוה appeared to me from afar, saying, “I have loved you with an everlasting love, therefore I shall draw you with kindness.
(4)  “I am going to build you again. And you shall be rebuilt, O maiden of Israel! Again you shall take up your tambourines, and go forth in the dances of those who rejoice.

Ezekiel 20:33-36
(33) “As I live,” declares the Master יהוה, “do not I, with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out, reign over you?
(34) “And I shall bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the lands where you are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out.
(35) “And I shall bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and shall enter into judgment with you face to face there.
(36) “As I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Mitsrayim [Egypt], so I shall enter into judgment with you,” declares the Master יהוה

The Place of Safety destroyed AFTER "the Woman" returns to Zion and AFTER the Dragon is destroyed

Jeremiah 48:25-29
(25)  “The horn of Moab has been cut off, and his arm has been broken,” declares יהוה [YeHoWaH].
(26)  “Make him drunk, because he has made himself great against יהוה. Moab shall splash in his vomit, and he shall also be in mockery [will have to flee for his life like Israel has previously in antiquity and in the future].
(27)  “And was not Israel a mockery to you? Was he found among thieves? For whenever you speak of him, you shake your head.
(28)  “O inhabitants of Moab, leave the cities and dwell in the rock, and be like the dove making a nest in the sides of the cave’s mouth.
(29)  “We have heard of the pride of Moab (he is very proud!), of his loftiness and arrogance and pride, and of the haughtiness of his heart.”

Ammon, Moab, and Edom may escape the wrath of the Dragon of Revelation 12, but after the Dragon has met his end, they won't escape the judgment of the Most High. The goats will be removed from the sheep and the chaff will be removed from the wheat, but there will be some Ammonites, Moabites, and Edomites who will embrace the Elohim of Israel and become companions of remnant of Israel (note: Ruth, an ancestor of King David, was a Moabite).

Interesting parallel:

While King David was a fugitive from his own son Absalom, the people of Ammon were friendly to him and offered his family and military escorts refuge.

2 Samuel 17:27-29
(27)  And it came to pass, when David was come to Mahanaim, that Shobi the son of Nahash of Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and Machir the son of Ammiel of Lodebar, and Barzillai the Gileadite of Rogelim,
(28)  Brought beds, and basons, and earthen vessels, and wheat, and barley, and flour, and parched corn, and beans, and lentiles, and parched pulse,
(29)  And honey, and butter, and sheep, and cheese of kine, for David, and for the people that were with him, to eat: for they said, The people is hungry, and weary, and thirsty, in the wilderness.
