I have never seen evidence in the bible for the pre-trip rapture... anywhere. Even Paul clearly states in Thessalonians that the dead in Christ will be raised first and then we who are alive will join them "at the LAST trump."
It's fairly obvious, since he wrote that in his epistle before John was given the visions of Revelation on Patmos - that he (Paul) was inspired by God on how it would come to pass so that Christians would know and not be in the dark. So we won't see anything like a catching away until the final Trumpet is blown (that being the 7th Trumpet) and most eschatology students realize that this happens at the return of Christ, for right after that the wrath of God (bowl judgements) are released on the Earth and here too Paul tells us that we (Christians, faithful and true) are not given over to the wrath of God. So, from the angle I come at this it seems, fairly obviously atleast in this aspect, that what many call the rapture will not happen until the very end at the return of Christ.
Then, on that day, at that very hour we will be caught up with Him in the clouds and suddenly he will fall back down to the mount of olives like a bolt of lightning, splitting the mount in half... and to those left on the Earth, well, the wrath of God will come upon them...
So pre-trib rapture? Hey, if you want to believe it, feel free - however, keep in mind that it will possibly not happen so look at a pre-trib rapture this way: Hope for the best, but prepare (as we are commanded) for the worst.
