Gay,
I truly believe there are multiple reasons why Ephraim forgot himself and would awaken to himself in the Last Days and I go into those things at various places on the site. Yeshua's prophetic parable on the Prodigal Son actually mentions this phenomenon in Luke 15 where the Prodigal "comes to himself" as he is experiencing trouble in the world. This begs the question, had Ephraim forgotten himself previously?
Paul even mentions that Israel would experience blindness until the "fullness of the gentiles" which has a mysterious connection with Ephraim becoming the "fullness of the goyim" or gentiles.
