Comment: Shmita Cycle Tribulation synchronization problem

Print
There is a problem with synchronizing the seven year prophetic period at the end of days with the shmita cycle. 6000 years is not a multiple of 7. 5999 is a multiple of 7. We can't get around this mathematical relationship. If the last year of the great tribulation is a shabbat year then it would be (at the latest) year 5999. I still believe that we are living in the very end of the age but how do we account for the last year using the shmita year cycle?

Curious if the "No year 0" could account for this.

The entire year 5999 is also the 7th year of a shmita cycle. 6000 begins the next shmita cycle. The very end of 5999 marks 6000 years. Sometimes the very simplest concepts are the most difficult: merely entering a year does not mean we have traveled through the entire year - that was my mistake.
