My opinion on conversion is that for the descendants of the House of Israel 10 tribes it is not possible. The House of Israel ten tribes was not only sent into exile but was also divorced. What that means is that since the 'woman' went after other partners she is not allowed to return to her former husband. In the 'real' world that means we were put out of the covenant and since we were out of the covenant there was no remedy for sin. Probably a lot of Israelites moved to Judea over the years, being familiar with the customs and knowing the language and they probably fit right in, but Yahweh knows every hair on your head and so He also knows every single person and their geneology. Yahweh guards and keeps His law and lets no one escape it. So, no one of the house of Israel 10 tribes had remedy for sin until Yahushua. With the Lord holding wide the door for salvation for the lost sheep of the house of Israel He also holds that same door open for anyone who claims Him as Messiah and He saves them also by virtue of them being grafted in to the house of Israel. Yahweh is the one keeping score....not the 'teachers or the rabbis'. However, look what yahweh says about the House of Judah...that if it weren't for the righteous she would have been divorced as well. Yahushua says that He did not come for the righteous. The 'righteous' of the House of Judah are found in the book of Luke, chapter one, I think. They are the Karaites of today. Since rabbinical judaism is mixture of man's customs and commandments with the Torah, the rabbinical/talmudic/orthodox jews are practicing a form of syncretism, much like christianity with their use of pagan symbols. (just my opinion)
