What is missing in all the 2012 Doomsday hysteria? Is there a Divine Causation?

Earth on fire2012 could "possibly" be connected to the Great and Terrible Day of Yah's wrath... so frequently alluded to in Scripture, but I'm not absolutely compelled by the evidence yet. It could simply be a false-flag, callusing type event used by the Adversary... or it could be the real deal. Needless to say, even in my watchfulness, I'm embracing a healthy amount of skepticism... and I think you should too.

No doubt, we will ALL be more convinced of 2012's significance or irrelevance as the next couple years roll on... for most all commentaries indicate there will be a rapid crescendo of events as December 21, 2012 draws near (not to mention all the prerequisite prophecies preceding the Day of Wrath, such as the Altar sacrifices being reinstated and ended by the Beast).

So IF 2012 is the real deal... and it is the prophesied time where "scarcely any flesh survives"... then what will really be the cause of the calamity and unimaginable loss of human life? Is the cause just some cyclical, meaningless, unfortunate phenomenon... naturally occurring in our galaxy and effecting our solar system? Or will the event be designed and instigated by some Intelligent causation (i.e., Yah judging mankind for mans' filth and bloodshed)?

Over the last couple years as I've watched and listened to various "experts" on the 2012 Doomsday subject, I've noticed that there is almost always a general lack in discussion as to "the Divine why" it may happen. It seems the Designer of the Universe is generally left out of the realm of plausibility. The recent movie 2012 briefly touched upon the judgment aspect of the globally feared doomsday, but it largely only paints the watchmen-types as quacks, weirdos, and homeless people.

Brooks Agnew, Michael Tsarion, Brent Miller, Cliff High, Paul LaViolette, Patrick Geryl, and many others speak about what they think are cyclical cataclysmic events that have hit the earth in the past... and will strike the earth again. They all have their viewpoints (with varying degrees of scientific evidence) on the precise "how" it will happen, but I can scarcely remember any of them ever mentioning a Divinely-oriented "why".

An example:

Have the calamities on the Earth occurred in some whimsical non-divine non-benevolent predictable repetition, as the "experts" would like you to believe? Or has their always been a Right and Just cause for the calamities? If the Creator set the Universe, galaxies, and planets into place (and He did: the design is too perfect and complex to have occurred by Darwinian chance), would it be much effort for Him to disrupt the rotation of the Earth or cause it to wobble like a drunkard?

Conversely, if the inhabitants of the Earth listened to and followed the prescribed Ways of the Creator, could He not just as easily protect the Earth from external extinction-type events?
