VIDEO: A rabbi answers a pastor (Rebuttal)

It seems Rabbinites, Karaites, Ebionites, and even some Netzarene.... conveniently forget Genesis 18 and other similar passages in these discussions. This is what I would have liked to ask the distinguished rabbi in the following video:

"When יהוה manifested Himself as a MAN to Abraham in Genesis 18, did Abraham participate in idolatry, for perceiving this Person as יהוה? In that passage, the two other men or angels left and went to Sodom, but יהוה stayed there with Abraham. יהוה even ate the meal Sarah had prepared. Interesting, yes? Is it not also possible that Yeshua/Jesus was a similar manifestation of יהוה? And if Yeshua is יהוה, then is worshiping Him and/or perceiving Him as יהוה idolatry?" - Hanok

Thanks to brother Pekka Husa for turning me onto the following music vid... which focuses on Abraham's visible encounter with יהוה.

  1. Shalom Hanok,

Good statement out there! I think you should ask the rabbi then ;) Really. Btw, did you catch the idea from Hazakim’s hip-hop track which I posted to FB? A muslim contacted me via Youtube’s priv msg and he / she insulted me of the very same thing (“idolatry”) as the rabbi in the video. I sended the link to the Hazakim’s music video reagrding Genesis 18 to this muslim. I am still waiting his / her answer.

Gotta keep Genesis 18 in mind always. Bless you bro!

  2. Nice! Music video fits perfectly to this post.

  3. Indeed indeed… thank you for sharing it, Pekka. =)

  4. Worhship of YHWH would not be idolatry, but the assumption requires that JC is YHWH. If JC is not YHWH, then it’s a violation of the first and probably second commandments- the ones that have been the downfall of Israel since the early days.

Seems like you are interested in knowing. Here is a link to one of many similar sites: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wx5EKaY1B8g

What if JC was the stumbling block placed in Israel?

  5. Correct, if Yeshua is NOT YHVH, then of course there are many guilty of idolatry. But if He is the same One who appeared to Abraham in Gen 18, then there are many ‘others’ who are guilty of dishonoring and belittling the very Creator of the Universe.

What I find somewhat ironic… even comical… is the fact that many of the Rabbinate who accuse Yeshua’s followers of idolatry… this very group itself idolizes the words of the Rabbis above the words of YHVH. So in a very real sense, it is they who are guilty of idolatry. I know for a fact THEY are not YHVH!!

  6. Clearly you are not following rabbinic judiasm, so what they are doing is less important than the issue of whether JC is YHWH. Because they are wrong in aspects of their worship, does not make anything Mr. Locks says less valid. It isn’t an “either or” decision that has to be made, one can choose neither. Both schools of thought can be wrong without creating a contradiction. I see Mr. Locks making valid points.

Whether YHWH can walk with men if he chooses seems to be clear and unambiguous. The important aspect of Genesis 18 is the example of the relationship we should have with YHWH, not whether he or his angels can manifest in human form. I doubt any Rabbi would debate you on this. The debate in the video stems from the following question “Was the Yahshua in the NT an incarnation of YHWH?” I see from the work you have posted that you are diligently seeking YHWH and I encourage you to try to answer the question raised in the video. Now is the time for the fulfillment of Duet. 4.

    Deuteronomy 4:27-31
    (27) And YHWH shall scatter you among the nations, and you shall be left few in number among the nations, where YHWH shall lead you.

    (28) And there you shall serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.

    (29) But if from there you shall seek YHWH, your Elohim, you shall find Him, if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

    (30) When you are in distress, and all these things have come upon you, in the latter days, if you turn to YHWH, your Elohim, and shall be obedient to His voice;

    (31) For YHWH, your Elohim is a merciful Elohim; He will not forsake you, nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers, which He swore to them.
