What Tribes made up the Northern Kingdom of Israel?
Israel (Jacob) had 12 sons with his two wives and their two handmaids. They were born in order as follows:
- Reuben (born to Leah)
- Simeon (born to Leah)
- Levi (born to Leah)
- Judah (born to Leah)
- Dan (born to Bilhah/Rachel)
- Naphtali (born to Bilhah/Rachel)
- Gad (born to Zilpah/Leah)
- Asher (born to Zilpah/Leah)
- Issachar (born to Leah)
- Zebulun (born to Leah)
- Joseph (born to Rachel)
- Benjamin (born to Rachel)
The Ten Tribes of the Northern Kingdom
Of the 12 sons (tribes), ten eventually split off at the end of King Solomon’s reign and became the Northern Kingdom of Israel.
- Reuben
- Simeon (technically scattered and present in both Kingdoms)
- Levi (technically scattered and present in both Kingdoms)
- Dan
- Naphtali
- Gad
- Asher
- Issachar
- Zebulun
- Joseph
The Southern Kingdom of Judah
Judah and Benjamin became known as the Southern Kingdom of Judah. The Cohanim (Priests) of the Tribe of Levi were mainly present in the Land of the Tribes of Judah and Benjamin, but they (Levi) nor Simeon received land inheritance because of their actions at Shechem (Genesis 49:5-7), but were instead scattered in the midst of both Kingdoms.
- Judah
- Benjamin

“Know the Future” by Tim McHyde (book review)
A couple months ago, I finally purchased and quickly read through Tim McHyde’s recent book: Know the Future (5th Printing/Edition). It wasn’t a quick read because of brevity or simplicity but instead because of the profoundly helpful and practical information it contained. I have heard many people report they had read through it in a single day because they simply “couldn’t put it down“.
Some important questions McHyde helped me answer (some of which I didn’t even know I should ask):
- Who is Mystery Babylon?
- When should we move to Israel to survive the 7 Trumpets of Revelation?
- What part will Elijah (Eliyahu) play in the time leading up to the Day of יהוה (Wrath)?
- Is the Jubilee (Yovel) cycle based upon 50 or 49 year increments?
- Is the Great Tribulation 7 or 3.5 years long?
- Why are the Hebraic-Roots, Messianic, Ephraimite, Two-House movements so easily splintered and divided (Mystery of Disunity)?
Some of those questions may not seem important to you, but they are extremely significant (in practical ways) in determining what we should look for as prerequisite events which lead up to Daniel’s 70th Week (Shavua), the 7 year period which contains the 3.5 year Great Tribulation, the arrival of Eliyahu and the Two Witnesses of Revelation, and the ultimate and final return of Messiah.
To purchase the book, go here: Know the Future (the purchase includes a pdf version of the book). As of Sept. 2008, the book is in its 6th Printing and has been revised to include McHyde’s updated timeline. He no longer thinks the Sabbath year-cycle of 2010-2016 could be Daniel’s prophetic 70th week, but leaning more towards the 2024-2030 period as the most probable (I have yet to be convinced and see 2010 as a huge possiblity still). Even with that disagreement, I still highly recommend his book.

I recently heard a scientist say several planets are experiencing “global warming” in our solar system. For example, he said we have had a satellite monitoring Saturn for about 18 years and have seen the atmospheric pressure increase there by 30%. The discussion was part of a broader presentation done by the Horizon Project which focused more on Pole Shifts to describe the disappearance of advanced civilizations in the past. It does go into detail of why they think the planets are heating up, but you’ll have to watch it to find out: www.thehorizonproject.com
No matter how much or how often our Hummers and cows flatulate… they aren’t causing Saturn to warm up. Something more significant is going on in (or maybe outside) of our Solar System.
Daniel’s Timeline of the Last Days (using the Sabbath/Shmita Year Cycle)
On the main site, I’ve been piecing together a Timeline of the Last Days using several sources for important insight (see list below). The entire time-line is largely hinged upon past and future Sabbatical (Shmita/Shmittah) and Jubilee (Yovel/Yobel) Years and how they may and likely will closely correlate to Daniel’s 70th Week/Shavua (Daniel 9:24-27), the Great Tribulation, and the Second Coming of Messiah (Yeshua/Yehoshua).
