Steven Collin’s has written a lengthy report to answer this question. He starts:

The answer to this question has caused a seismic divide between Christians and the modern scientific community. Both sides think that there is no possible way of reconciling their respective differences on this question. Many Christians, thinking that the Bible teaches that the earth and all life on it can be no more than 6,000 years old, answer this question in the affirmative. The scientific community, seeing physical evidence which indicates that the earth and physical Universe is much older than 6,000 years, answers this question in the negative. Additionally, scientists have heard so many Christians assert that the Bible teaches the earth is only 6,000 years old that they reject the Bible as unscientific because of that Christian assertion. Who is right? The answer may surprise you. I believe that each side has a lot of truth on its side, but they have been in disagreement because of a misunderstanding about what the Bible actually says on this subject.

His reports describes an intriguing version of the “GAP Theory“, held by many Old Earth Creationists (opposed to Young Earth Creationists or YECists). In short, the theory indicates mankind is only about 6,000 years old, but the Earth and the Universe are much older (defined indefinitely by Scripture).

Because of my exposure to Young Earth Creationist David Hovind, I never really gave the GAP Theory much consideration, but Collins has given me much more to chew on. You can see a short snip bit of Hovind’s thoughts on the matter in Are there billions of years between verses one and two?

The Young Earth argument (against GAP Creationism) regarding “sin entering the world” is becoming less convincing to me, for Lucifer’s desire to exalt himself above the Most High was most certainly sin and likely occurred before Adam and Havah’s sin. Regardless, it seems preposterous to think Lucifer could have only sinned after the initial sin of man. Lucifer was not a man or hu-man. He himself was a mutually exclusive entity capable of making decisions which “miss the mark” of righteousness.

A Lesson for Returning Ephraim? Book of Jasher (Chapter 75)

Book of Jasher - Chapter 75 (Bold is mine)

1 At that time, in the hundred and eightieth year of the Israelites going down into Egypt, there went forth from Egypt valiant men, thirty thousand on foot, from the children of Israel, who were all of the tribe of Joseph, of the children of Ephraim the son of Joseph.

2 For they said the period was completed which the Lord had appointed to the children of Israel in the times of old, which he had spoken to Abraham.

3 And these men girded themselves, and they put each man his sword at his side, and every man his armor upon him, and they trusted to their strength, and they went out together from Egypt with a mighty hand.

The United States of America was once a great nation because of the great moral values of her people. Now her sins are rising and filling the mind of the Great One (יהוה) and it has been said by many, He will not repent (apologize) to Sodom and Gomorrah.

America is #1 in the following:

Something the documentary doesn’t mention is the fact that America is the top producer, consumer, and exporter of Pornography (rumored to be a 57 billion dollar industry). The sex industry and the abortion industry are hideously linked.

Current and ongoing calamities:

1.) Drought has consumed much of America for a number of years. And it is contributing to the global food crisis.
2.) Enormous forest fires routinely erupt in various places around the country.
3.) The almighty dollar has plummeted in value. Many nations are dumping it as their reserve currency.
4.) Financially, out nation is enslaved to our enemies because of our national debts. It seems Ron Paul is the only politician really talking about it, but he is painted as a quack (yet he is probably the only one capable of slowing down the black train).
5.) There is a mortgage, home foreclosure, and bankruptcy crisis.
6.) Major corporations (not just the Airlines) are declaring bankruptcy.
7.) There is an epidemic of hatred directed at America because of her adulterous corporate relationships with the kings and merchants of the earth.

Much greater epidemics, calamities, and catastrophes have been foreseen for America for a number of decades. The culture of murder (of the unborn) in our nation and the funding of such a culture in other nations around the world has not escaped the eye of יהוה. America will burn for many reasons, but none are as causative as this: the deliberate holocaust of innocent millions of our most precious resource (children). Even though the blood of the innocent isn’t seen in the open generally, the literal ground is soaked with it.

Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, My people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. (Jeremiah 51:6 & 45).

If you can’t leave yet, prepare to leave (prepare physically and prepare your heart). Some preparations may be futile and ultimately unneeded, but it would be wise to purchase passports, sell things you don’t need, try to minimize personal debts, etc… Jerusalem and Edom will be our final and ultimate places of refuge, but there may be other intermediary locations before Jerusalem and Edom are open to us. Many are considering places like Canada, Costa Rica, Panama, and South Africa as intermediaries to escape… but first listen and hear from יהוה.

2008-2015 Pole Shift and Timing Details

Greetings: Attached is an astounding collection of information that you must know for your preparation, spiritually as well as naturally, regarding a polar shift. It gives specific timing from many sources, including secular scientific sources. This is spell-binding information that will drive into your spirit the reality that our Messiah is really coming and we are in the final seven-year cycle before He does.

More and more people are isolating the years 2008-2015–Torah-observant believers, Christians, NASA, secular physicists and other scientists, and the world leaders in general–as the years of a polar shift, of great tribulation, of Daniel’s 70th week, of the final seven years before Messiah comes, of a time that the world’s people might not survive. Please get this out to as many people as possible.

When I first started getting this information from Father in February 2007, I thought I was all alone–but now–I am getting the same information back in different forms from secular unbelievers as well as other believers who have done their homework in the Word. (If you do not have the triology on the Shmittah year prophecy, please ask for it) We’re in the countdown.

Physicists are putting cataclysmic events leading to a pole shift as early as 2009. But, as I wrote in that trilogy, the trumpet judgments of Revelation 8 were released Yom Kippur September 12, 2007, to be sounded in the near future. The “last trumpet” is the one we are waiting for (Revelation 11:15-19 with I Corinthians 15:51-59).

Yes, the Scriptures talk a lot about a polar shift and give descriptions that are staggeringly detailed. It is just before and/or at the return of Messiah. But, the events leading up to it match the Luke 21:25-26 scneario. We’ve been feeling the effects of it, but by 2009-2012 the effects of it will be very obvious to those that understand what’s going on, and to those who haven’t had a clue up until then.

As far as questions you should ask yourself, there are many. We are always to be aware of our state before Yahuweh and make daily corrections, if necessary, in repentance and change, for our eternal rewards and our eternal position is at stake.

Messiah warned of deception. He warned us about being lukewarm. He warned us about the catastrophic things that are beginning to come upon us now. He also warned us not to run here and there seeking a “word from God”.

I am very saddened that so many tell me about their going to this man’s meetings and that man’s meetings, paying to get into their meetings and buying their wares, and yet they don’t tell me what the Father has spoken to them personally from the Word. They’re too busy to sit with Him. I wonder why, then, do they want to spend eternity with Someone they don’t care to know now–except to use Him for a fire escape?

Here are a few questions you need to ask yourself if you’re running around to one meeting after another:
1) Is this person selling the truth? — Putting the Scripture on CDs and DVDs and then selling it? (This is against His Word)
2) Is this person charging to get into their meetings?
3) Is this person using the correct Names of our Father and His Messiah, if they know them of course, or are they using the pagan names to placate the audience. This compromise with His Person is usually part of an agenda to get more money and more meetings and more people buying their stuff? As Torah-observant Messianic people, we must make a complete break with the pagan world for II Corinthians 6:18-7:1 is very clear. We must be set-apart and separated unto Him, obedient and humbly “trembling at His Word” if we hope to survive.
4) Are they warning people of what is coming so as to bring reality and preparation to His remnant? Or are they giving nice speeches that do not change lives? We’re in a time of life and death issues. We don’t have time for note-taking in religious meetings that do nothing to shake us to the core and get us to act. “They that know their Elohim will be strong and do exploits” (Daniel 11:32).
Most of these big names in different circles compromise with the truth–they know the truth, but for their own agenda’s sake they stay away from any “contraversey”. They don’t want anyone throwing rocks at them–or rock their boat–so they appease their audience.
5) Would you trust them to help you in the face of death?

Many are very sincere and nice people. Some teach Hebrew roots. They most likely will inherit eternal life. But, the remnant that is set-apart doesn’t compromise, neither do they listen to others who compromise, neither do they waste their time running to meetings to hear people who are 1/2 in and 1/2 out of paganism (Christianity and Judaism).

I admonish you to carefully pray over II Corinthians 6:14-7:1 and Deuteronomy chapter 13. Mother Theresa got a Nobel prize. She ministered to the dying in Calcutta, India. But, she did not tell them about the Savior who said, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me”. She let the Hindus die in their paganism with comfort that they would inherit eternal life.

This is the time of the Prophets–the time of either/or, the time of the plumb line. This is the time of Hosea 8:1 and Isaiah 58:1–His servants lifting up their voices like a great shofar telling the people to turn from their sin and return to Yahuweh in obedience to His covenant. If those you listen to are not doing this, then why listen to them? The visions and dreams of the false prophets are abounding, and those who do not know the Elohim of Israel personally, nor His nature, are falling for them…including people who keep the Torah.

While some very popular teachers are telling people truth about Hebrew roots, still, the spiritual “meat” is given to those who sit in His presence and listen to Him do the teaching (John 16:13; I John 2:27).

The prophets of old, before telling what He said, said things like “the word of Yahuweh came…” or “the voice of Yahuweh said…” Those who know Him hear from Him–”My sheep hear My voice, and they follow Me”, Messiah said. Prayer is mostly hearing, then going out and obeying. The greater part of our hearing should be from the Word, because with all the 40 ways He speaks, He does not deviate from His Word.

We need to “tighten ship” and obey the Messiah who said, “Be careful what you hear” and “Be careful how you hear”. (Mark 4:22-25) There are secrets He wants to tell His set-apart remnant that will save our lives–and if we’re off paying money to hear someone who may not be of the remnant, then we are going to lose out.

Today, look up these Scriptures and turn your heart towards knowing Him and knowing His nature and His ways.

Please study the Scriptures in this article and see how the pole shift is a reality. Can you imagine what will happen when our “ball” is rolled around and around?

Shmittah Yeah 2015/2016 (or 2016/2017): Second Coming of Messiah (Christ)?

People who quote the statement of Yeshua (Jesus) that “no man knows the day or hour” (of His coming) are wholesale ignorant of the nature of the Hebrew Feasts (Appointed Times/Moedim) and one Feast in particular. To understand Yeshua’s statement from Mark 13:32, we have to understand the Feast which the Torah calls “Yom Teruah”, meaning “Day of Blowing/Shouting/Trumpets”. Most Jews (minus the Karaites) call it “Rosh HaShanah”. It is the only Feast Day appearing at the beginning of a biblical month, where “no man knows the day or hour” because no man knows when the New Moon will be sighted to determine the month. Thus no one knows the exact day of the 7th Trumpet (Revelation 11:15). Yet we do know that it will be on a Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah) and many researchers are making various findings that point to a particular one.

“God wants us to look at the biblical calendar,” says Mark Biltz, pastor of El Shaddai Ministries in Bonney Lake, Wash. “The reason we need to be watching is [because] He will signal His appearance. But we have to know what to be watching as well. So we need to be watching the biblical holidays.”

First, what is a Shmittah (Shmita) year? Ancient Israel’s biblical-agricultural calendar was based upon seven year cycles. It is what the the 49/50 year Yovel (Jubilee) is based upon, where the compulsory return of all property to its original owners is required. There is some reason to believe that 2015-2016 (or 2016-2017) period will be a Shmittah year with major astronomical events appearing on Festival Days (i.e. Passover and Tabernacles). Tim McHide’s [Correction: Tim McHyde’s] recent book Know the Future connects a similar date for the 7th Trumpet (2016/2017), but only if next year’s Sabbath year (2009/2010) closely coincides with a prerequisite nuclear war in the Middle East.

[Update from Tim McHyde: “…I don’t see Psalm 83’s Arab-Muslim alliance anywhere near taking shape yet which I conclude has to happen before the tribulation. I also don’t see Iran anywhere near a nuclear arsenal given that even Israel’s latest aggressive estimate is they could have a single nuke in three years. Michael Rood’s timeline calendar also emphasizes the period of 2009/2010 and 2016/2017 as a Shmittah cycle with the Last Trumpet speculated to occur on 6017 (2017).

Yedidah’s study on the Three Levels of Daniel 9 reveals date ranges that are very similar.

It would seem יהוה is confirming very similar dates by His Watchmen, Teachers, and Shepherds. These are fascinating times to live. I suppose we will know for sure once the hecklers are silenced… just as in the days of Noah.
