The Jewish Talmudic writings (so-called "Oral Torah") have much good to offer, but they also contain things which directly contradict/reverse precepts plainly WRITTEN in the Tanakh. Use the Talmud for insight, but do not use it to add to or take away commandments which are WRITTEN. See the article: Laws that Set men Free.
