Pure Breed or Pure Non-sense?

In the minds of many, there is this misconception that the “Jews” are purely descended from Jacob and Jacob alone.

In reality, the Jews are descended of Judah, Benjamin, and Levi, BUT… they also included an ancient mix of other peoples of uncertain origin. Read the verses below:

Exodus 12:37-38:
37 And the children of Israel set out from Rameses to Sukkoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides the little ones.
38 And a mixed multitude went up with them too, also flocks and herds, very much livestock.

Genetics, yDNA and mtDNA tests, are also proving the Jews consist of more than a single haplogroup (see Contrasting patterns of Y chromosome variation
in Ashkenazi Jewish and host non-Jewish European populations). The Exodus mixed multitude is not the only reason for this. It wasn’t uncommon for people from other ethnic groups to be converted to Judaism, BUT some of these converts were Israelites (Joes) who were cut off and scattered from Israel many hundreds of years earlier by the Assyrians. It can be suggested they were simply being re-grafted into the Olive Tree of Jacob. The Khazarian Kingdom is probably a good case to point out. It was a kingdom that sprang up near the very region Josephus indicated the deported 10 Tribes had grown to be a great multitude.

Because modern Jews don’t perfectly fall into a single haplogroup, some anti-Semites will argue this evidence as proof the “Jews” are fake or impostors. Well those accusations beg the question: is there any ethnic group in the world completely pure and unspotted by the DNA of another people group? Even Native American populations, largely falling into the Q3 Haplogroup, aren’t completely and purely Q.

Let it be understood: the Jews aren’t fake, but they aren’t a pure-breed either. And the notion that they should be pure is pure non-sense. Israel was called to be a “light to the nations” and thus other peoples were drawn to their Light. For example, it was that “light” that drew Ruth into the camp of Israel.

FYI, Ruth was a non-Israelite (Moabite), great, great, grandmother of King David (a Jew of the tribe of Jew-dah).

Why Isaak and NOT Ishmael

I recently listened to a profound teaching about the subject of Isaac and Ishmael, and why Isaac received the birthright promise of Abraham, and not Ishmael.

Basically, the gist of the teaching was: Isaac was born after Abraham was circumcised, thus Isaac passed through the “cutting” (the circumcision of Abraham) when he was conceived, while Ishmael was already 13 when he was circumcised. There was some prep teaching about three different types of covenants in ancient times. Usually, blood was used in some fashion, not unlike modern tales where those entering a covenant will cut their finger tips, etc…

Personally, I’m not sure how I feel about the basis of this “proof” in favor of Isaac. I simply look at the promise made directly to Isaac’s mother, Sarah, as proof enough:

Genesis 16:10 “And the angel of יהוה said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.”

The promise was not made to Hagar, Ishmael’s mother, but to Isaac’s. It can’t be any more simple than that.

If Ishmael, Why Not Isaak?

Genesis 17:20: “And as for Yishma?el, I have heard you. See, I shall bless him, and shall make him bear fruit, and greatly increase him. He is to bring forth twelve princes, and I shall make him a great nation (goy).”

Now isn’t that interesting? People see the above promise and most immediately accept it’s reality in the modern world. The consensus amongst many Arab nations, is that they descended from Ishmael. I too accept this reality. The Creator of the Universe promised it to Abraham without condition. It became so… without condition.

But why not the same consensus regarding Isaac’s promised descendants?

Genesis 17:21: “But My covenant I establish with Yitsak (Isaak), whom Sarah is to bear to you at this set time next year.”

Okay. What else?

Genesis 26:3-5:
3 “Sojourn in this land. And I shall be with you and bless you, for I give all these lands to you and your seed. And I shall establish the oath which I swore to Abraham your father.”
4 “And I shall increase your seed like the stars of the heavens, and I shall give all these lands to your seed. And in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed,”
5 “because Abraham obeyed My voice and guarded My Charge: My Mitsvah, My Statutes, and My Torot.”

Ishmael’s seed was tremendously blessed because of his father’s righteousness. But Isaac received the brunt of Abraham’s reward.

Genesis 26:24: And Yehowah appeared to him [Isaac] the same night and said, “I am the Elohim of your father Abraham. Do not fear, for I am with you, and shall bless you and increase your seed for My servant Abraham’s sake.”

The Jews have become numerous and would likely have become even more numerous had their people not suffered as much as they have (i.e. the Holocaust). But the reality is, the Jews have never become as numerous as Arab populations (I’ve read estimates well over 200 million). “Nations” were simiply NOT promised to the House of Jew-dah, but Kings were (Genesis 49:10). But there are people in “the West” who have become very numerous. And they are uniquely despised by Arabs. I hear very little hate language directed toward China and other East Asian populations. But oh those “White Devils in the West”!!

Isaak’s descendants did become a great multitude, just as it was prophecied. And it was said that by the name “Isaak”, “Ephraim and Manasseh” would be called.

Ephraim and Manasseh are a part of the Lost Ten Tribes and are largely NOT Jews, except for those who have mixed with Jewdah, which there is genetic evidence for.

Genesis 48:16: “the Messenger who has redeemed me from all evil – bless the youths! And let my name be called upon them [Ephraim and Manasseh], and the name of my fathers Abraham and Yitsak (Isaak). And let them increase to a multitude in the midst of the earth.”

Is it possible that Isaak’s descendants have become even more numerous than Ishmael’s? And is it possible, that the Creator of the Universe is not a Liar?
